Le Moyne College students will start classes virtually for the first two weeks of the spring semester, according to a letter sent to students from school administrators Sunday. 

The decision to move classes online comes as the omicron COVID-19 variant continues to bring higher transmission rates to the city of Syracuse.

Classes set to begin on Tuesday, Jan. 18 will now run online through Friday, Jan. 28. for most students. Others, such as those in the school's physician assistant or MBA programs, will begin in-person as previously scheduled starting Monday, Jan. 10.

Residential students will be able to return to their on-campus housing starting Friday, Jan. 14.

Regular in-person instruction is set to begin again for all on Monday, Jan. 31. Students were also reminded in the letter to receive their booster shots as soon as they are eligible for one.
