ACR Health in Syracuse will mark recognize World AIDS Day on Thursday at Salt City Market's Community Room by hosting a mobile testing site for various diseases.

The tests, open to the public, will screen for HIV, Hepatitis C and sexually transmitted infections. In addition, Wegmans will be giving out COIVD-19 vaccinations and $25 gift cards. Speakers will share their experiences living with HIV. Cmmunity groups will share resources and information about AIDS.

ACR Health stresses the importance of knowing your HIV/AIDS status, which means getting tested.

“We also want folks who may be living with HIV/AIDS to feel empowered to be able to take care of themselves and realize they can live a healthy, long, successful life," said K. Daniel Reed, director of Prevention Services at ACR Health.

According to ACR Health, more than 35 million people have died of HIV/AIDS since it was identified in 1984.
