The Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum is taking shape, and JoDee Kenney speaks with Interim Director Lisa Sasaki. Planned for yet-to-be-determined site on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., Sasaki said even before construction begins, digital exhibits and resources are available to view. The museum’s Advisory Council represents a diverse cross-section of women, and Sasaki said the diversity of women’s experiences throughout American History will be incorporated into the experience for visitors. Congress still needs to approve a final location and plays a role in funding, but the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum is taking donations and encouraging volunteers to participate.
