A passing of the torch up at Syracuse University recently as longtime, hall of fame coach Jim Boeheim officially called it a career, making way for longtime assistant and former player Adrian Autry to take the reins.

Autry had been on Boeheim's staff since 2011 and played for him from 1990 to 1994.

Autry was noticeably emotional making a point to attribute his success as a player, person and coach to Boeheim.

The name Jim Boeheim is synonymous with Syracuse University. He's been with the SU basketball program since the early 60s, first as a player, then eventually the head coach.

After a heartbreaking loss to Wake Forest on Wednesday in the ACC tournament - the Syracuse legend retired.

Joining Spectrum News 1 to talk about his hall of fame career is a man who knows him better than most, Scott Pitoniak, who authored the best-selling biography "Color Me Orange: The Jim Boeheim Story," to chat what about him made him so endearing to the program and community, his work outside of basketball in the CNY community, his legacy and more.
