PITTSFORD, N.Y. — During the regular season, No. 1 Victor beat No. 2 Webster Thomas 10-9 in boys lacrosse. The teams met again Wednesday night with the Class B Sectional title on the line.

There was a huge crowd at St. John Fisher's Growney Stadium and they saw a good one.

Defending champion Victor grabbed the early lead after Andrew Russell scoring unassisted. Thomas hung tough, but the Blue Devils led 5-3 at the half.

Titans charged back in the third, but trailed 7-5 heading into the fourth quarter.

Thomas completed the comeback with a behind-the-back goal and then took a 9-8 lead with 3:30 left.

However, Victor pulled it even — 9-9 headed to overtime.

The game was decided in the second OT when Joey Pezzimenti found Alexander Mabbett for Victors game winner.

Blue Devils win 10-9 to claim their 5th straight sectional championship. Victor is now 18-1 and Thomas ends the season 16-3.
