GATES, N.Y. — Hundreds of handcrafted wooden gifts will be on sale for the holidays thanks to some hard work at Hope Hall School.

Staff and school volunteers are busy preparing for the annual Hope Hall Woodworking Sale to help support the school's wood shop.

About 50 students are in the program to learn what fine craftsmanship is.

The class connects woodworking fundamentals and tool operation with career readiness.

"They've really built up my confidence. I am able to say I can do this, so I am not scared as much to make a mistake because we can fix it and it is nice that I am able to put my own style to it," said Hope Hall senior Selena Jones.

Volunteers handmade all kinds of items that will be on sale this Saturday at Hope Hall on Buffalo Road in Gates and the weekend of December 15 at the Mall at Greece Ridge.
