ELBA, N.Y. -- State Police confirm two fatalities after a tractor trailer rolled over in the Town of Elba Saturday.

According to officials, troopers responded to a collision on State Route 98 and Lockport Road.

Police say that a 2013 Honda Civic failed to yield at the intersection of ST- 98 and struck a tractor-trailer traveling northbound. Both vehicles left the roadway, striking a utility pole and causing it to fall.

Crews were unable to approach the vehicles involved due to live electric lines down near the vehicles. National Grid was called to remove the wires.

Both operators were confirmed dead at the scene. The victims have been identified as Franca C. Monachino, 45 of Hilton, NY and Jerry E. Tuttle, 29 of Kingley, PA.
