BUFFALO, N.Y. — One local group is aiming to turn a historic firehouse on Buffalo's west side into a microbrewery and restaurant.

Project X Holdings LLC recently bought the building on the 300 block of Jersey Street and would like to put about $1.6 million into renovations.

They held a public information meeting with nearby residents Thursday to gauge interest.

But many weren't too pleased with the announcement.

"Along with the brewery you have the noise, you have the dumpster problems, you have the mice problems coming from the dumpsters, and public problems with people urinating,” said longtime resident Christine Nigrelli.

Project 'X' group members say they'll take this public input into consideration, as they prepare to appear before the planning board for zoning permits next week.
