Sources tell NY1 that two FDNY firefighters were among seven service members killed in a Thursday night helicopter crash in Iraq.

Sources tell NY1 one of those firefighters is Lieutenant Christopher Raguso, a more-than-10-year veteran of the department.

He also volunteered closer to his home in Long Island at the Commack Fire Department, where he was a lieutenant in Commack's Company 4.

The FDNY has not publicly confirmed his identity, but sources tell NY1 he worked for many years as a firefighter in a Brooklyn firehouse before he was promoted to lieutenant but not permanently assigned to a fire company in that position.

Raguso leaves behind a wife and two young daughters.

A Facebook post by the Commack Fire Department reads "Chris was always there to help anyone with anything, he would never say no."

Another firefighter soldier was also killed in the crash, which the Pentagon says is under investigation.

The FDNY and the firefighters union have not yet commented on the deaths of their members.

We will have more on this story as information becomes available.
