A new development in connection with the disappearance of Brittanee Drexel.

Drexel, from Chili, disappeared in 2009 while on spring break with friends in Myrtle Beach.

According to officials, a witness in the case recently failed a lie detector test.

Timothy Taylor is awaiting sentencing for an unconnected armed robbery in 2011 in South Carolina.

According to court paperwork, prosecutors agreed to drop the most severe charge against Taylor if he gave them information about the Drexel case.

Taylor was asked if he knew who was involved in her disappearance and if he ever saw her in person.

Prosecutors say he answered no to both questions and failed the test. After being told he failed and meeting with his attorney, prosecutors say Taylor became belligerent during a subsequent interview.

In 2016 the FBI ruled Drexel's death a homicide, saying she was held against her will, sexually assaulted and eventually killed. Her remains have never been found and no one has been charged with her death.
