ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The home opener for the Rochester Red Wings is just over two weeks away and the Wings will be expanding the fan safety netting at Frontier Field this season.

Major League Baseball is doing the same thing at its ballparks this year.

The netting will run approximately 15 feet high and extend to the outside edge of each team's dugout.

The Red Wings say they are working with Monroe County to have the new netting installed by the third homestand, which begins May 3rd.

The first home game of the season is Friday night, April 6th against the Buffalo Bisons.
