ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- With their lease troubles behind them, the Rochester Red Wings are gearing up for the 2018 season.

"It's not Rochester without Red Wings Baseball," said Patrick Ross of Rochester.

The Red Wings held their second annual 'Baseball's Back Bash' Friday night, two weeks ahead of opening day. With the box office officially open, fans visited the stadium to purchase their tickets while enjoying live music and free hot dogs.

"It's really just to get people ready and get them in the mood for baseball season," said Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason.

"You know, we pulled up and we said 'Hey summer's coming buddy.' Snow's leaving, sun's shining, hot dogs are in the air," said Ben Slate of Gates.

"First time walking in the ball park since last year, and there's no better place in Rochester in my opinion," said Ross.

But first the snow has got to go. And the front office, is ready to step up to the plate.

"It's melting, we just need it to melt a little bit more, so we can get out there and you know manicure the grass and get the dirt ready for the players to get here," said Mason.

The season is sure to be another exciting one with promotions like Bark in the Park, Dollar Hot Dog Wednesdays and Star Wars night.

The Red Wings open their season April 6 at home against the Buffalo Bisons.
