It was a sea of tassels and graduation caps this past weekend. The class of 2018 graduated, and already are looking forward to their next step.

For many, the next step will be entering the workforce, and as prepared as the recent grads might be, they still have their worries.

"It's intimidating, but I'm betting on myself and I'm hoping I can get it done," said Eric Lupercio, who was a math and economics major at UB.

But in New York, the numbers look good. According to state Department of Labor, over 6,000 private sector jobs were added in April, reaching an all-time high. Other graduates, however, plan to get even more degrees before they take on that workforce.

"I'm getting my doctorate in occupational therapy and that field is really on the surplus now, so I'm confident in my ability to get a job after," said Kayla Previti.

And even though that means more tuition to pay, she believes it'll be worth it to achieve her goals.

"I didn't pick up that much debt from UB, but for my masters I'm going to, but I mean it's give and take, I'm getting an education out of it so it will work out in the long run,” she said.
