The man charged in connection with the death of his stepson last June pleaded guilty to manslaughter, attempted murder and drug charges.

Walter Morse is set to be sentenced at the end of July and faces up to 15 years in prison.

Officials say Morse and the boy's mother, Dolfona Grayson, left 10-year old J'Vieon Grayson-Sutter and his six-year-old brother home alone.

According to prosecutors, the boy, who suffered from a compulsive disorder and was prone to ingesting things uncontrollably, died after swallowing a lethal dose of fentanyl. Prosecutors say drugs and drug paraphernalia were found inside of the home.

The attempted murder charge stems from an incident during which prosecutors say Morse fired at J'Vieon's biological father, Michael Coles, who had been working with prosecutors and the police during the investigation.
