A former WWE wrestler from Livingston County has died after a long battle with cancer.

Matt Cappotelli's wife announced his death early Friday morning, saying it was exactly a year after his brain surgery.

The wrestler is from Caledonia, and attended Caledonia-Mumford High School, according to his Facebook page.

WWE says Cappotelli was co-winner of the reality competition "Tough Enough" back in 2003.

He went on to train as one of their superstars, but that was cut short in 2006 when Cappotelli was diagnosed with brain cancer. They say it resurfaced a year ago.

Cappotelli was 38 years old.
