Pride Week festivities are underway today, and for the first time in Monroe County history, a pride flag is flying above the county office building.

It's a show of the county's commitment to equality and inclusiveness.

Pride week kicks with Q-day at Seabreeze Amusement Park on Saturday from noon until 6:00 p.m.

Leaders with the LGBTQ say the event is an opportunity to get together as a group and have fun. That fun is from from noon until 6.

Sunday is the Pride 5K Run, which starts at 8:30 A.M. at Cobbs Hill Park. A volleyball tournament is also tomorrow. That runs from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. over at Ontario Beach Park.

A Pride Week Kick-Off beach party is noon until 6:00 p.m. at the beach as well.

Monday, Opening Ceremonies will be held at Rochester City Hall starting at 6:00 p.m.

Spectrum News will have continued coverage of Pride Week, which runs through the 22nd.
