Services will be held in the coming days for the Central New York law enforcement officers who were gunned down while performing their job on Sunday night in Salina.

Calling hours for Syracuse Police officer Michael Jensen, 29, one of two killed while trying to apprehend a subject, are 3-8 p.m. Friday in the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home in Rome. A burial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church in Rome.

A public service will be held for Onondaga County Sheriff Lt. Michael Hoosock, 37, who also died in what police said was an ambush-style attack, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Expo Center at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, according to the Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home.

Both men were killed outside a home by a 33-year-old man armed with a Springfield AR-15 and 40-round clip, the county sheriff's office said Tuesday. The suspect was killed by return fire, police said.
