ROCHESTER, N.Y. — New details on Monroe County's proposed 2019-2024 Capital Improvement Program.

The six year plan, which seeks to improve county's highways, parks and buildings, like the Greater Rochester International Airport, Seneca Park Zoo and Monroe Community College was unveiled last night.

Also on the agenda, improving to the Pure Waters sewer system, the county's library system and Monroe Community Hospital.

The price tag is about $400 million, with funding coming mostly from the county. State and federal government as well as special district sources will also contribute. The number stems from an internal review process.

"At the beginning of the process, in the early fall, we give the departments a goal that we'd like them to reach," said Rochelle Bell, senior environmental planner. "It kind of is tailored to each department, depending what we know their issues are."

The Monroe County Planning board hopes to recommend a final plan to county executive Cheryl Dinolfo by April 2nd.
