Widespread snow will fill in late Friday, but that snow will gradually end as Saturday goes on.

What You Need To Know

  • The 41st parade kicks off at noon on Saturday

  • Members of the Spectrum News 1 team will be there

  • The weather isn't looking half bad for the parade this year

Some snow from late Friday will linger on into Saturday morning. However, as the day goes on, snow chances will dwindle.

So even though you may still see some snowflakes flying around when you wake up Saturday morning, by the time the parade gets going at noon, it’ll be just a slight chance of a few leftover flurries.

Even as that snow chance gradually tapers off, clouds will dominate the sky. So there’s really not going to be any sunshine to help warm you up as you stand outside.

It’ll still be a day to bundle up for, but it won’t be the coldest parade we’ve ever had to endure by any means.

Syracuse’s average high for this point in March is 40 degrees, and temperatures will fall a few degrees shy of that with a high in the mid-30s. Temperatures will already be in the 30s by the time the parade gets underway.

Thankfully, it won’t be terribly breezy either. However, a 5-10 mph wind out of the north will still be enough to make it feel more like the 20s outside.

So if you were planning on heading out to downtown Syracuse for the parade on Saturday, make sure you layer up in all the green attire!
