AUSTIN, Texas — Each month Creative Action hosts "Community Art Sundays."

This month's event was extra special. The organization received a $10,000 donation. Spectrum along with Ovation chose Creative Action as one of its Inaugural Stand for the Arts Award recipients.

The joint initiative is dedicated to supporting local arts, cultural and educational groups.

Creative Action says the award will help with a goal to develop a passion for art in young people.

"This award really means that people like Spectrum and Ovation care about the community and really do acknowledge that art has value to support and develop young people and their families,” said Mia Crockett with Creative Action.

The grant will allow Creative Action to continue its Community Art Sunday with  free art workshops, performances, live music and active learning experiences for all ages.
