FORT WORTH, Texas — A peculiar, bright blue truck in Fort Worth is turning frowns upside down and giving people the perfect excuse to surprise their special someone.

The Peacock Farm and Flower Truck started rolling around town for business in 2020 and has surprisingly had much success despite it being a difficult year.

"I had my first harvest from my first flower garden and I was picking multiple five bucket gallons a day during the height of COVID… It was more than I could enjoy more than I could give away…,” said Mauri Williams, owner of Peacock Farm and Flower.

She started selling her flowers from home, but the supply and demand was too high.

“I started filling up my schedule with porch pickups all day everyday and I actually saved up enough money,” said Williams.

She used that money to buy her very first flower truck, an eye-catching blue Suzuki.

"I couldn’t do a retail space so this was the perfect solution,” says the flower farmer.

Her business has truly bloomed at the Clear Fork Farmers Market every Saturday and other events in the area, requiring an extra set of hands to keep up.

"It gets kinda busy and hectic sometimes but it's a good thing… it's nice to make people happy,” said Jared Hambright.

As a new business owner she says it’s important to offer customers something unique rather than just a generic product.

"I try to add in things that are more exotic like heirloom flowers and ones you may not have seen before,” she said.

Customers love the unique flower selection she offers and it gives them a little pick-me-up.

"Was drawn to her truck because she has football mums, and football mums are hard to find now,” said Lori Whitnell of Fort Worth. "I grew up in a little truck and that just brought back all kinds of memories for me.”.

A year ago Williams would have never imagined the success she has found in going all in on her dream business.

“I just keep pinching myself and it's been very quick so I’m just trying to soak it all in,” she said.

She is adding a second mobile flower shop to cover more events. Despite the challenges, Williams said this year is better than she could have hoped for, and proves there’s never a right time to take a leap of faith in your dreams.
