FORT WORTH, Texas — A real-life story based here in the Lone Star State has hit Tinseltown, featuring one big Texas native.

Dallas native Luke Wilson, alongside legendary actor Martin Sheen, is starring in the new movie “12 Mighty Orphans.” It’s the true story of a depression-era football team from Fort Worth who made it all the way to the state championship in 1940. You might recognize some other big names from the movie like Vanessa Shaw and Robert Duvall. It hits theaters in Texas the weekend of June 11.

Our LeAnn Wallace caught up with the stars to talk about how the movie was filmed in North Texas and what it was like for Wilson to be back home.

“For me, being from Dallas and to do a Texas football movie and to get to actually film it in Texas, in Fort Worth, all those things were really exciting to me,” said Wilson.
