DALLAS — Iman Shumpert was arrested Saturday at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport for felony possession of marijuana, according to officials.
The 2016 NBA champion was allegedly caught with a "sizeable amount of a green leafy substance” inside a backpack during a TSA screening, according to a report. The former Cleveland Cavalier admitted the “green leafy substance” was in fact marijuana.
Officers allegedly seized 6.12 ounces of marijuana from the backpack.
Thirty-two-year-old Shumpert was then placed under arrest and charged. He could potentially face a $10,000 fine and up to two years in jail, if convicted.
