TEXAS — Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan narrowly survived a runoff challenge from the GOP's hard right this week. Now, he'll battle to keep his position as speaker. It comes as more than a dozen Texas House GOP incumbents lost to hardline conservative challengers.

On this week’s “Inside Out” segment, former Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen, R-Angleton, and former state Rep. Mark Strama, D-Austin, weighed in on the runoff results and what it could mean for the direction of the Texas House, school vouchers, and Phelan's political future.
