Starting July 14, the Maui County Department of Transportation announced it will launch its new parking ambassador program in Wailuku.

Managed by Diamond Parking Services, the pilot program will have parking ambassadors working in collaboration with the Maui Police Department offering “parking education and enforcement” that align with Maui County Code, according to a release.

The program will cover on-street municipal parking areas including all streets and connecting side roads within the boundaries of Kaohu Street to the south, Waiale Road to the east, Mokuhau and Piihana roads to the north and High Street to the west.

As part of the Park Maui program, the overall goal is the new parking ambassador program is to improve access to parking, ensure compliance and enhance the overall parking experience for residents, visitors and businesses.

“The Parking Ambassador Program is designed to improve access in high-demand areas and support the economic vitality of our local businesses,” said County Department of Transportation Director Marc Takamori in the release. “Our ambassadors will facilitate a smoother, more efficient parking experience for residents and visitors alike.”
