GREENSBORO, N.C. — As Fourth of July holiday celebrations continue across the state, thousands took to downtown Greensboro for a festival.
Organizers say the Fun Fourth Freedom Fest brings everyone in the community together. It’s the ninth annual celebration by Downtown Greensboro Inc.
The event featured four stages with more than 30 artists, 60 vendors and 30 food trucks, along with karaoke, carnival games and fireworks.
“This is one of the best times throughout the year to bring the community together, to just enjoy each other. And if there's ever a time that we need to do that, it's right now,” said Zack Matheny, Downtown Greensboro president.
Organizers estimate more than 100,000 visitors will have stopped by the festival throughout the day despite the heat.
