Syracuse University graduates in the Class of 2020 are getting some well deserved recognition this weekend. The university has invited the graduates and their families back to campus for a number of events and activities on campus.

The class was never really able to celebrate their accomplishments in person.

A "Welcome Home" event is scheduled for the quad on Friday night while individual schools will all hold ceremonies at different times over the weekend. A commencement ceremony will take place Sunday morning at 10 a.m. in the stadium.

School officials commend the graduates for their hard work.

"Our students, really, particularly in the Class of 2020, I admire their resiliency, their fortitude, and their optimism for realizing we would come through this, and they have," said Syracuse University Professor and Commencement Marshal Shiu-Kai Chin.

School officials are expecting between 1,500 and 2,000 graduates from 2020 to attend the events on campus this weekend. SU virtually conferred 3,800 undergraduate and 2,800 graduate degrees to 2020 graduates last May.
