A virtual remembrance ceremony was held at Syracuse University's Hendricks Chapel Tuesday, marking the 33rd anniversary of the deadly Pan Am Flight 103 attack.

"Today at 2:03 pm EST as flight Pan Am 103 exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland, each year on this date and time we gather here in Hendricks Chapel to look back, and act forward," said Dean of Hendricks Chapel Brian Konkol.

Students, faculty, alumni and friends came together to remember the near 300 people who lost their lives in a terrorist attack overseas on December 21, 1988.

Thirty-five of the victims were Syracuse University students returning home after a semester spent studying abroad. As part of the ceremony, each student's name was read aloud after a moment of silence.
