The Syracuse Crunch will once again play for a chance to hoist the Calder Cup.

The Crunch clinched their seventh consecutive American Hockey League playoff berth after beating the Hershey Bears 3-2 in overtime Wednesday. Conor Sheary's breakaway backhand goal just 23 seconds into the extra period gave Syracuse the victory.

The Crunch have won seven of their last eight games and eight of their last 10.

Syracuse, the AHL affiliate of the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning, wraps the regular season this weekend with a home-and-home series against the Utica Comets. The Crunch are only the third AHL North Division team to clinch a playoff berth, joining Laval and Rochester.
