3. Ex-aide to New York governor pleads not guilty to new pandemic fraud charge

A former aide to two New York governors already facing charges of acting as an illicit agent of China pleaded not guilty on Monday to additional charges that she improperly profited from the state’s purchase of face masks and other key medical supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

4. Rochester Cool Sweep in effect on Tuesday

With temperatures expected to climb in the city of Rochester, Mayor Malik Evans announced that a Cool Sweep will be in effect on Tuesday. The heat index will be in the high 80s and high temperatures may continue into the week. 

5. Tuesday marks first day for new RCSD Superintendent Eric Jay Rosser

Tuesday is the first day on the job for new school superintendents across the area. In the city of Rochester, Eric Jay Rosser takes over as district superintendent. He left a position as superintendent of the Poughkeepsie City School District.

6. Senate passes Trump's big tax breaks and spending cuts bill as Vance breaks 50-50 tie

Senate Republicans hauled President Donald Trump's big tax breaks and spending cuts bill to passage Tuesday on the narrowest of margins, pushing past opposition from Democrats and their own GOP ranks after a turbulent overnight session.

Music program helps veterans connect, heal
