The Wayne County District Attorney's Office says three varsity players from the Clyde-Savannah football team have pleaded guilty after they were accused of taking part in the locker room assault of another player last Halloween.

According to Acting District Attorney Christine Callanan, the three team members pleaded guilty to forcible touching and first-degree hazing. The teens were sentenced to two years of probation on the hazing conviction and one-year conditional discharge on the forcible touching charge. Callanan says all of them received youthful offender adjudications.

A stay-away order of protection was also issued for the victim, who was 14 at the time, Callanan says.

In February, a Wayne County judge dismissed the aggravated sexual abuse charges against the three teens. He ruled ruled there was not enough evidence to support the most serious charge.

The attorney for the three students, who were all suspended for the remainder of the school year, says two of them are expected to be back in school next year, while the third is set to graduate.
