WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — A Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) will be open beginning Tuesday at the Williamson Expo County Center in Taylor. Its purpose is to provide short-term and long-term relief for tornado survivors in Williamson and Bastrop counties.

The resource center will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 29 and 30, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. pm on March 31.

Agencies such as Austin Disaster Relief and American Red Cross are partnering to provide food, clothing, animal assistance, financial advisory, housing, debris removal and other services to the victims of the tornadoes.

Additionally, mental health services will also be available to help people cope and prevent emotional fatigue. Spanish speakers will be on site. Anyone who has property damage is asked to report it to the Texas Division of Emergency Management or TDEM. Victims affected by the tornadoes but cannot make it to MARC can call the ADRN Disaster Survivor Hotline at 512-806-0800 for assistance.

Storms that moved through Texas on Monday, March 21 produced at least 27 tornadoes across a large swath of the state, the National Weather Service reported. The tornado that tore through Round Rock in Williamson County was an EF-2 with a maximum wind speed of 135 mph. An EF-1 tornado with a maximum wind speed of 110 mph touched down in Jarrell, which is also located in Williamson County.

A total 65 homes were destroyed when a tornado touched down near Elgin, in Bastrop County.
